Sanaa is a creative jobs platform connecting African talent with studios and companies. When this policy refers to "Sanaa", "we", "us" or "our", it means the company operating this website.

2. What data we collect

We collect information you give us directly:

• →Account data — name, email address, password (hashed, never stored in plain text)
• →Profile data — bio, skills, location, day rate, portfolio items, CV
• →Application data — jobs you apply to and their status
• →Usage data — pages visited, searches made, jobs saved
• →Communications — emails you send us via the help centre

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

• →Provide and improve the Sanaa platform
• →Match your profile to relevant job opportunities
• →Send transactional emails (application confirmations, job alerts you subscribe to)
• →Allow employers to find your public profile if you have set it to visible
• →Prevent fraud and ensure platform security

We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Who we share data with

We share limited data with the following service providers solely to operate the platform:

• →Resend — transactional email delivery
• →Brevo — newsletter campaigns (only if you subscribed)
• →Meilisearch — job search indexing (job content only, no personal data)
• →MinIO — file storage for avatars, CVs, and portfolio files

5. Your profile visibility

As a candidate, your profile is public by default so employers can discover you. You can set your profile to private at any time from your dashboard under My Profile → Settings. A private profile is never shown in employer talent searches.

6. Cookies

We use a single session cookie for authentication and a NEXT_LOCALE cookie to remember your language preference. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can manage most of this directly from your profile settings. For any other requests, email us at privacy@sanaa.africa.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the platform.
